Mampong Newtown Long-Standing Refuse Dump Cleared by BOS Foundation*

In a commendable effort to improve sanitation and public health, the BOS Foundation has successfully evacuated a long-standing refuse dump in Mampong Newtown.
This refuse dump, which had plagued the community for years, has finally been cleared, much to the relief of residents.
The refuse dump, previously a health hazard, was a breeding ground for pests and a source of diseases for the local population.
Its removal marks a significant step in enhancing sanitation standards and addressing environmental challenges in the area.
Speaking during the evacuation exercise, the CEO of BOS Foundation Mis Beatrice Owarewaa Siaw, stressed the importance of maintaining a clean and healthy environment.
"We are delighted to have addressed this pressing issue for the people of Mampong Newtown.
This action reflects our commitment to promoting better sanitation and ensuring healthier living conditions for all.
The evacuation process involved heavy machinery to remove the accumulated waste, which were catered for by the foundation with the support of the Mampong Municipal Assembly.
Speaking on behalf of the residents,the Presiding Member for the Mampong Municipal Assembly Hon Daniel Oduro expressed his gratitude to the BOS Foundation for responding to their long-standing pleas.
"We have waited so long for this dump to be cleared, and we are overjoyed that it has finally happened.
Our children can now play safely, and we can breathe fresh air again,".She stated.
The BOS Foundation intervention has been widely applauded as a model for addressing waste management issues in underserved communities. Local authorities have also pledged to collaborate with the foundation and community members to ensure proper waste management practices moving forward.
